As Xelect continues to grow we’re delighted to announce that Dr Max Coulter has joined us as Bioinformatician/Geneticist. Bioinformatics is a relatively recent discipline of scientific research which uses advanced computing technology to interpret biological information. This is a vital area for us, as we’re continually breaking new ground developing our powerful in-house software, Optimate, to analyse vast quantities of genetic data. Max has a BSc in Molecular Biology from the University of Exeter and a PhD from James Hutton Institute and University of Dundee in quantitative and molecular genetics. He also has 3 years of post-doctorate experience developing software pipelines (for improved transcriptomics analysis and pan-genomics).
At Xelect he will be developing our bioinformatics processes and in-house genetics software, as well as contributing to our ongoing R&D programme. Welcome to the team, Max!
