Xelect provides genotyping for any species, any scale, anywhere. Our laboratory and bioinformatics services are fully flexible, allowing us to build genotyping solutions tailored to your commercial objectives, species, and sample volumes.

Low Density Genotyping (LD)

Best for population assessment and making selection decisions based on broodstock trait evaluations

LD panels generally contain <500 SNPs, ideal when you need efficient screening of large populations or pedigree based genetic selection directly on broodstock candidates.

Medium Density Genotyping (MD)

Best for generating accurate genomic breeding value estimates when testing siblings of the selection candidates

Typical panels contain ~5K SNPs, ideal for genomic prediction, which delivers the highest rates of genetic progress when analysing complex trait evaluations such as disease resistance and production performance data that are not collected directly on broodstock.

High Density Genotyping (HD)

Best for running genomic selection with more distantly related training sets and GWAS for the identification of marker trait associations

Our off-the-shelf HD panels typically range from 30K to 130K SNPs, depending on the species and the genomic resources available. At the highest density, this technology not only allows you to perform complex genomic predictions but will also permit identification of causal traits through GWAS analyses.
