Our Express Test Options
Ploidy Determination
We provide an independent 24-hour service for triploidy determination. Delivering rapid validation of successful triploidisation with a certificate clients can dispatch with their egg shipments.

Sex Determination

DNA Extractions
Our DNA extraction service provides fast, reliable isolation of high-quality DNA using methods tailored to your sample type, including blood, feathers, animal tissues, cryomilt/semen, as well as low input or challenging samples such as water samples for environmental DNA diagnostic testing. Each method is chosen to optimise yield and purity, based on downstream application requirements.
Our service offers rapid turnaround times and can support small- and large-scale projects making them convenient for labs that need consistent, scalable extraction services.
Genotyping (express panel options available)
Rapid turnaround genotyping using our off-the-shelf Aquaculture species panels for population assessment checks, parentage, stock validation, or broodstock selection.
Suitable for customers requiring genotyping only services with industry leading turnaround times.
Not in Aquaculture but Need Genetic Services?
Are you breeding a different species? No problem. We also offer SNP discovery and panel development as part of our service portfolio and can support your breeding programme journey. We have a history of supporting breeders outside of Aquaculture too (e.g. red deer, dairy cattle).
Next Generation Sequencing Services
Accelerate your research with Xelect’s high‑quality short-read sequencing services on our MiSeq and NextSeq1000 platforms. We can accept user-prepared libraries and all libraries will undergo full QC (Qubit, fragment analysis) before sequencing. You can be reassured to get fast turnaround and reliable data.
If you require support with library preparation, our team of sequencing specialists are also on hand to advise and support you.
