We have now added brown trout, Salmo trutta, to our range of genetic relatedness and parentage assignment services. We already offer the service for Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout and will be launching the service for Arctic charr and hybrids very soon.

Our service enables rapid and accurate mapping of genetic relatedness between potential broodstock, allowing the selection of the optimal animals for a healthy breeding programme. Maximising genetic diversity between parents is a crucial part of animal breeding, especially when selecting for desired traits.

We also provide parentage assignment of offspring, meaning samples as early as eyed embryos can be allocated into sib and half-sib groups and parents identified from a list of candidates.
