A New Wave of Talent: Promoting careers in Aquaculture

Xelect Senior Breeding Programme Manager Marie features in a new set of films intended to encourage more young people to start a career in Aquaculture. #BeTheNewWave is a joint initiative between the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC), Lantra and Women in Scottish Aquaculture (WISA).

Marie is passionate about encouraging fresh talent – particularly young women – to join the industry: “Aquaculture is an incredibly fast-growing sector and probably the only way for us to meet global food requirements sustainably. I’d love to inspire other women to come into what is already a very exciting career”.

The #BeTheNewWave campaign was launched on 22 January at the SAIC, and you can see the full set of videos and more details on the campaign here.
