Coping with COVID-19
Whilst there is absolutely no doubt that COVID-19 is causing significant disruption, the good news is that it’s business as usual at Horizon House. We’ve taken a number of steps to protect our staff and to ensure complete continuity of our operations in a range of scenarios. As a company that works closely with customers across the globe we’re very well set up for remote working, but we’ve also introduced a number of new safeguards.
- 75% of our staff have been working remotely now for over a week, using online conferencing and social collaboration tools to keep each other updated.
- All of our data and documents are securely stored in the Cloud, so that we can safely access the information we need from any location.
- At our custom-built laboratory we’ve been able to significantly increase the working distance between core lab staff to minimise any risks.
- We’ve also introduced stringent new cleaning protocols, including regular ethanol wiping of shared surfaces.
- We’ve secured alternative suppliers and overflow support to give us an even higher level of resilience in case of staff absence.
Unfortunately we’re unable to travel to see our customers, due to global travel restrictions, but our virtual door is always open to our customers for a video chat or conference call.
