Paolo has a PhD in population genetics and a strong academic background in marine genomics and molecular biology. He has broad experience in DNA preparation, genotyping and modern sequencing techniques, as well as the analysis of genetic data. Paolo also has collaborations with the Natural History Museum of London which helped expand his expertise in aquatic parasitology.
As well as genotyping, Paolo assists with the development of the breeding programmes at Xelect and plays a central role in our genetic marker discovery and R&D.
His previous academic skills include lab and data analysis working on population genetics of salmonids and oily fish (anchovies and sardines). He also has performed population genomics on sugar kelp with
research published at CNRS/Sorbonne University.
