José is an accomplished manager with more than 20 years of experience working for major breeding genetic firms and research institutes in Aquaculture, leveraging expertise in Genetics, Genomics, and Breeding Program management for commercial Aquaculture species, particularly in Salmonids and Nile tilapia.
He attained his Masters of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genetics in Aquaculture at the University of Stirling, with peer-review publications particularly in the area of genetic sex determination in tilapia species and IPN QTL discovery in Atlantic Salmon.
Driven by innovation and implementation of new technologies in Aquaculture, José has promoted research initiatives and fostered collaborative partnerships for the production of aquaculture species with improved disease resistant and enhanced environmental resilience.
